"Wake
Up! Wake Up!"
The Weekly Word #24 ~ May, 2008
I am feeling a simple openness and quiet purpose
as I write this, in the light of the passing of Mother Sarita (the
mother don Miguel Ruiz). I know that she made her transition the
same way she lived ~ in the pure love of her faith and her God.
We have all learned about different Gods and different relationships
with the Divine. Some of you, perhaps, have even been scarred by
abuse in those teachings, have turned away from any belief in any
God by any name.
That is why I prefer to call that one force that
is in and throughout this universe, simply "Life." It
seems to be all there is here, both that which creates matter and
that which animates it. The Life in the tree outside is the same
Life animating your body, the stars, whales, and the smallest unseen
critters all around us.
From this feeling of quiet today, coupled with
the planning and anticipation of a wonderful Celebration of Life
in August, I thought I would share a simple poem that I wrote several
years ago. It is my way of expressing the Divinity that is all around
us, inviting us to Wake Up! and recognize that we are IT!
God is Sitting at the Side of Your Bed
God is sitting at the side of your
bed
waiting for you to open your eyes
and Wake Up.
God is patient.
There is no time.
Wake Up! Wake Up!
There is no time to waste.
Your time is Now.
When you stir, God smiles.
When you open your eyes,
and see Yourself,
You smile.
Wake Up! Wake Up!
God is sitting at the side of your
bed,
Waiting for you to open your eyes and see Yourself.
Wake Up! Wake Up!
